What Virginia law requires
Virginia requires a certified general real estate appraiser license for commercial assignments, a credential that takes 3,000 hours of supervised commercial experience and 300 hours of coursework to earn. You can confirm any appraiser's standing through the DPOR license lookup before you engage them. We encourage it.
Questions clients ask
Do you charge travel fees for properties outside Richmond?
For most of the state, no. We quote one fixed fee that covers the inspection wherever the property sits. Assignments in far Southwest Virginia may carry a travel component, which we state in the quote.
Can one appraiser cover properties in different Virginia cities?
Yes. A Virginia certified general license covers the whole Commonwealth. Lenders with statewide portfolios use us so one vendor, one format, and one point of contact covers every market.
Do you appraise data centers?
Yes. Virginia hosts the largest data center market in the world, and we appraise data center properties along with other special purpose assets that require regional and national comparable research.
